"I have been monitoring my diet with some online websites that show food information. In my diet, I regularly eat about 9, 5 inch stalks of broccoli and I am afraid my Vitamin A level is in the toxic range, could you please tell me if the site if right and if I should cut back on my broccoli. Thanks."
That is certainly a good amount of broccoli...however, most cases of vitamin A toxicity come from taking supplements, so it also depends on if you are taking any supplements that contain Vitamin A. It is very difficult to overdose on a vitamin from food. Now, that being said, if you are truly concerned, please see your MD for a blood test and they can see...especially if you are having any of side effects such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, blurred vision or muscular discoordination.
Usually a 1/2 cup of broccoli has about 60mcg or 200IU of vitamin A...so depending on how your broccoli stacks up in cups, that will help you determine if you are at the upper level limit of 3000mcg or 10,000IU. But remember that the vitamin A that comes from vegetables is generally considered safe and difficult to overdose on.
Please see the following article and hopefully that will alleviate some of your fears, I'd prefer not to tell someone to decrease their intake of any vegetable!
Good luck!
